Why we still run our own cloud
We’ve been moving New Zealand organisations from on-premise servers to hosted environments for nearly twenty years. Some of the cloud workloads we manage today started life on physical servers we installed more than 15 years ago. A lot of businesses are still better off with a local cloud they can visit than a global one they’ll never see.

It’s all in our Auckland data centre, under New Zealand law. If you want to come and see it, we’ll show you round.

We run our own private cloud and we’re a Microsoft partner, so we’ve no reason to push you one way or the other. We’ve got law firms still running their practice management systems in our Auckland cloud because it’s cheaper, while their Microsoft 365, Copilot and security tools sit in Azure. There’s no rule that says everything has to be in one place.

Steady, everyday systems often cost less on our private cloud. Azure makes sense when you need its scale or services. We’ll put both prices in front of you.

What is CloudSource?
It’s OutSource’s cloud service. We’ve run our own data centre in Auckland since 2014, and we also look after Azure and hosted 3CX phone systems. The same team does all of it.
Where is my data stored?
On our private cloud, your data is hosted in our Auckland data centre and stays in New Zealand. For Azure workloads, we help you choose the Microsoft data centre region that meets your requirements.
Is private cloud cheaper than Azure?
It depends on the workload. Steady, everyday systems often cost less on our private cloud, while Azure earns its place when you need scale or Microsoft’s advanced services. We’ll compare both for your situation.
Can we start on private cloud and move to Azure later?
Yes. That’s how CloudSource is designed. You can move one system at a time, run a hybrid of both, and keep the same team supporting you throughout.
